Opinel Colorama Dark Blue Folding Knife No. 08

Description

8.5 cm stainless steel blade

The Sandvik stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, which allows for a very satisfactory cutting edge without being susceptible to corrosion.

Handle in colored stained hornbeam

Source: France. Medium-sized tree with dense foliage (toothed leaves) and a fluted trunk with thin, smooth, gray bark. Very hard and very strong wood, light gray. Used for making tools, billiard cues, and formerly for butcher’s stalls and yokes.

9 cm Yatagan

The name Yatagan originally refers to a saber used in Turkey. When creating his folding knife, Joseph Opinel designed a blade with a Yatagan shape (curved at the tip) and a rounded profile that guarantees unparalleled cutting quality.
