Description
Stainless Steel Wave Bowl by Henning Koppel for Georg Jensen
An undulating wave of stainless steel captures the movement of the sea as it rests on an organically shaped stand in this striking large decorative bowl. The sculptural shape combined with the highly polished surface means that it looks as good empty as when filled with fruit or flowers.
Combining beauty with function, designer Henning Koppel spent his career creating objects that were striking in form and practical in use.
Henning Koppel was adept at making his most miraculous works seem effortless. Employing this signature technique, Wave Bowl appears to float in spite of its substantial weight. Its asymmetry gives it the look of an abstract sculpture while maintaining its flawless functionality.
