Description
Nakiri – YOI Series
This knife features a traditional kuro-uchi (black-forged) finish that carries on the spirit of the village blacksmith. Its rugged, raw appearance reflects the warmth of true handcraftsmanship, and the more you use it, the more it will grow on you.
The name Yoi (meaning dusk or the beginning of night) was chosen to symbolize the black-forged surface as the onset of night, while the brilliance of the edge, brought out through sharpening and use, evokes the light of dawn. It is a knife you can nurture over time, enjoying the pleasure of raising a blade that becomes uniquely your own.
The Nakiri knife is a traditional Japanese vegetable knife, designed for precise chopping, slicing, and dicing. Its straight blade makes clean cuts through vegetables, while the flat edge ensures full contact with the cutting board.
