The Abyss Gloss Vase by Moser is a monumental crystal sculpture inspired by the oceans profound depth and light. Designed by Jan Plech, the piece captures the full spectrum of the seafrom dark abyssal blues to the luminous tones of the surface.
Crafted in Mosers historic aquamarine huenever before used in such a massive formthe vase reveals breathtaking optical effects. The hand-glossed crystal reflects light like sunlight dancing across moving water, creating shifting tonal variations throughout the object.
Abyss features walls of varying thickness, generating multiple valeurs within a single colour. This complex effect was achieved exclusively through precision cutting, without colour underlayinga remarkable technical challenge for Mosers master glassmakers and cutters.
The result is a powerful balance between brutalist edges and a fluid, rounded coreweight and lightness suspended in crystal.
