Description
Made of Tobe porcelain, the Hari-awase Dish is hand-painted with five different traditional Japanese design motifs and variable shapes, one for each side, in the Sugiura Koubow Studio in Ehime.
Hari-awase, meaning to join together, is reflective of Aya Sugiuras whimsical style of tobeyaki. Hand-stretched and shaped from tatara (slabs of clay), each piece is one-of-a-kind, and its individual parts are made freehand, showcasing each ceramic wares individuality.
Flip over the bowl for a surprise wash of color and the artists signature mark.
